Help
To use the Ask Perfect Expert, click Help / Ask Perfect Expert / Then enter your
question. Select the best answer from the list of answers and click Display.
Spell Check
New in Word Perfect is Spell as you Go which automatically flags spelling
errors as you type. To disable this feature click Tools / Proofread / Off. Reenable it by
clicking Spell as you Go.
Working with Others
Several features have been added to Word Perfect to facilitate sharing documents for review by others. These include the following:
Highlighting - Highlight text in different colors by choosing Tools / Highlight / On. Change the color with the color option. Simply drag over the text to highlight it and turn off with Off option. Remove highlight with the Remove option.
Workflow - Workflow allows you to send a document to another by way of a network for comments. Select File / Workflow and specify the recipient. When the document is returned his comments will be a different color.
Document Review - This is used to enter comments in different colors by reviewers. The author can reject or accept those changes. To use click File / Document / Review and specify author or reviewer, then your initials.
Address Book
Use address book to maintain lists of addresses. These can then be inserted into documents, labels, envelopes, etc in a variety of formats. Entries can also be used to dial phone numbers. To create an entry click Tools / Address Book / Add / Person or Organization. A template will appear that you can fill out with relevant information. Information can be changed by selecting the name and clicking Edit. An entry can be deleted by selecting it and clicking Remove.
Inserting an Address
To insert an address into a document, first position the insertion point to the desired location. Choose Tools / Address book or click the Address book icon. Choose the tab for type of entry and select the name. Choose Insert.
Internet Publisher
One of the nicest new features is the ability to create Internet documents directly from Word Perfect files. This allows you to present the information both in Word Perfect form and on the World Wide Web. Word Perfect also has an Internet template to allow you to create Internet documents from scratch.
To create a new Web document
Choose File / Internet Publisher, then select New Document. Now decide between a blank document or use the web expert. The screen will turn gray and only web compatible features will be enabled. You will need to enter a title line and body section. Other features of the Internet editor include headings, formatting, lists, text and background colors. Documents can be linked with hypertext links in the Tools section.
When the document is finished, save it as Word Perfect, then save it in HTML format with File / Internet Publisher / Publish to HTML.
To Convert an existing Document
Existing Word Perfect documents can be converted to Internet form, but with some limitations. Fonts, sizes, text color, and graphics cannot be used. Graphics can be added later with a HTML editor. To convert, choose File / Internet Publisher / Format as Web Document.
