Emeline and Summers Carney

Tracing our roots

from Ireland

Welcome to the Carney Family Site:

Featured on this site are the descendents of Nicholas Carney and his wife, Emeline Davis Carney. They were married in Roanoke, VA about 1840, and then moved to Fentress County, Tennessee. We do not know who their parents were. My goal is to trace this family back to Ireland.

I'd like to extend a very special thank you to all my Carney cousins who contribute to this site. They have preserved our family history through the photographs and stories on these pages. Being able to view these photographs and share this information is truly a gift. Who knew that such a simple site would connect so many wonderful people?

If you would like to contribute to this site, please let me know.

Thank you for looking and sharing.
