SUBMISSION GUIDELINES :

You must currently be enrolled in a Bowling Green Community College course.

  • Your name must be removed from all pages of your entry.
  • Entries should be submitted at the Preston Success Center front desk.
  • Your submission is a guarantee that you are the original author of the creative work you are submitting. Fraudulent entries will disqualify you from all of this year’s categories.
  • All submissions must meet the following deadlines:

Submit up to three poems, but no more than a total of three typed pages. Poetry entries should be typed, single-spaced, and formatted in Times New Roman twelve-point font.

CREATIVE NONFICTION ESSAY:

Submit a persuasive essay no longer than five pages. There are no limits on its subject or style; for example, it could reflect on a personal experience, it could explore an abstract concept, or it could develop an argument about a controversial issue. However, the majority of its content cannot consist of research; if so, it will be classified in the “Research Paper” category below. Essays should be typed, double-spaced, and formatted in Times New Roman twelve-point font.

SHORT STORIES:

Submit one short story, preferably no longer than ten pages. Fiction entries should be typed, double-spaced, and formatted in Times New Roman twelve-point font.

RESEARCH PAPER:

Submit one essay no longer than five pages in length that relies heavily on research (e.g., an informative essay, a research paper, etc.). Research papers should be typed, double-spaced, and formatted using Times New Roman twelve-point font and standard one-inch margins.
