Before we get started reading the book, we have to be able to understand the words that are in it. To be able to do this there are several fun and exciting activities that you will do to get more familiar with the text. Are you ready to get started? Okay, lets go! The first thing you will need to do is have your materials manager get a copy of the vocabulary words for each of your group members that you will be working with by clicking HERE. Take a look at all 6 of the words on your list, these words are the ones that you will be working with during the next few activities. ***REMEMBER that everyone works in your group to complete EVERY activitiy.*** To be able to understand a word you have to know what it means. To find out what each of these words mean you will find each of the words in the online dictionary. Before you do this try and create your own definition of what you think each word means. Talk to your group members and try and come up with one as a group. After you have finished this for all 6 vocabulary words, click HERE to go and find each one in the dictionary. When you find each of the words try and create a little picture next to the word on your print out and a short definition to help you remember what each of the words means. Great job so far...Keep it up! Now it is time to test your knowledge. You will take a test...but don't worry, you are going to do this together as a team by clicking HERE. You do not have to write your answers down. Take the test until you have gotten each of the questions correct. WOW...Keep it up! It is time to have a little fun with the words you have been working with the last few activities. You get to play a game. Each group member needs to work together to accomplish this. You can begin playing a game called Bounce by clicking HERE. Your group has done a fantastic job with the new vocabulary words that you have learned, now it is time to move on to your next task.
