As one of the members of the English Department’s Instructional Technology Committee, I am pleased to invite you all to attend the department’s 1st ever TechKnowledg-E Conference. Together with co-organizers David Lenoir and Terry Elliott, I am very excited that this event will take place at our department.
Several of us at the English Department use technology on a daily basis to make teaching more effective and students’ learning experience more rewarding. We all agree that incorporating technology into our courses has potential benefits for both students and teacher, and we are eager to show you how. We expect the conference to be a platform where we can share what we know and discover what we don’t know yet. The organizers have been working hard at planning this professional development opportunity and hope that you will find it useful, informative, and inspiring. If there is just one idea that you will take with you and implement in next semester’s courses, the conference has fulfilled its purpose. So please join us on Friday, May 4, in Cherry Hall.
To find our more about the conference please check out the conference website. The site will be frequently updated as new information comes in every day. Online registration is now open. You can sign up for presentations by clicking the Registration button on the navigation bar. As you will see, there will be an opening session and three concurrent sessions with two presentations each. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Registrants will automatically become members of the conference listserv. Please note that some of the sessions might be videotaped.
