WKU rugby HoME

Western Kentucky University Rugby Football Club was founded in 1976 by Billy Whalen.  WKU Rugby is part of the MidSouth Rugby Association and the Independence league of USA Rugby South.  WKU is currently in Division 2 and competes against MTSU, Emory, Georgia Tech, Georgia Southern, and Kennesaw State.  In 2008, WKU finished 2nd in Division 2 and advanced into playoffs against East Carolina.  Also, in 2009 WKU finished 2nd in MidSouth Division 2.  WKU Rugby is a member of the Intramural Sports Club at WKU.  Our players are from all areas of the United States and all over the world. We are a collection of guys that enjoy playing a competitive sport.  Our Club has social gatherings to raise team camaraderie.  If you are interested in playing for WKU Rugby, please contact the personnel at the bottom of the page.   Practice is every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Hattie Preston Intramural Sports Complex on Campbell Lane behind Wal Greens.
