Hello Everyone - My name is Amelia Owen. I am 26 years old. I am a 2006 graduated of Western Kentucky University where I received a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.     I am excited about starting my journey with Heartland Elementary. I am honored to be your child's 2nd grade teacher. My goal is to provide a positive, structured learning environment where your child will develop a life-long love of learning. I am very excited for this wonderful opportunity and look forward to meeting the families and students of Heartland Elementary.

A little about myself: I am orginally from historic Glendale, Kentucky. I am a 2001 graduate of Central Hardin High School. I currently reside in Elizabethtown, Ky with my sister (Lucinda), brother-in-law (Martin), nephew (Cole) and my Saint Bernard (Elly Mae). Elly Mae is my beautiful little girl that weighs about 125 pounds and was born in January of 2004. She is so sweet, adorable and a lot of slobbery fun. My parents Tammy and Dale live only a few miles away in Rineyville,Ky. We are a very close family and spend most of our time together. So more than likely if you see me out, I will be with family.

What I am all about: When I am not working on school work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I have one sister that is 3 years older then me. We enjoy playing cards, games, throwing sports parties, and watching movies/television. When I am not doing that--I like to draw, paint, scrapbook, play with my dog, and play sports (basketball and softball). In 2001, I graduated from Central Hardin High School. I played basketball and softball for the Lady Bruins. I still enjoy watching UK basketball and 9 innings of baseball on the big screen. I am a HUGE Kentucky Wildcat fan. Go CATS!
